Management Meeting

Here's the recap to the Management Monthly Meeting! The big topic was Getting Ready for the Winter.

Winter is Coming: A few Reminders on How to Prepare Your Home

1. Make sure your foundation vents are closed. If you walk around your home, your will see vents or grates set into the foundation. They are open in the summer for ventilation, but should be closed in the winter time, to help keep the heat in and stop your pipes from freezing.

2. Outside hose. Please disconnect it. If you leave it connected, you run the risk of freezing the waterline into your home. When the hose remains connected, it does not allow water to drain out of the faucet.

3. Make sure your heat tape switch is in the "on" position. The switch will be in your utility room, your heat tape is hard wired and doesn't need to be turned on.

4. Replace your heater filter this should be done 4 times a year to ensure better air quality and optimal performance of your heating and cooling system.

5. Check weather stripping around doors and windows. No one wants to lose heat in their homes!

6. Caulk your roof vents. This should be done approximately every 5 years, still check them every year to make sure they are good. Caulking roof vents ensures that warm air is not escaping from your house.

50 Years of Marriage

Norma and Don Walthour were married on October 7, 1961. They will be celebrating with their children Greg and Hillary, Greg's wife Virginia and their children Mitchell 11 and Caroline 7 and Hillary's husband Bill. Hillary and Bill's daughter Morganne will not be present since she is currently at the University of Puerto Rico in Cayey majoring in Spanish.

Fifty years is quite a while
For most good things to last;
But you're still together and still in love;
You must share a wonderful past.
We celebrate you this wonderful day
And hope that your bond keeps growing
You're a pair we should study and do what you say,
'Cause your secret is well worth the knowing!

Congratulations on 50 years of marriage!!

Coffee Talk: Delaware Arthritis Foundation

Our speaker at last month's coffee talk was the Delaware Arthritis Foundation. Michelle Marselli spoke to the group about the types of arthritis and how their mission is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases.

Regular exercise helps keep the joints moving, restores and preserves flexibility and strength, protects your joints and body from futher damage. A member of the Delaware Diamond Dancers worked with the group to teach them safe exercises that they can do with arthritis. Catchy music, scarves and balls helped the group warm up and get moving! Check out the video below everyone had a blast!
