Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

Last night was another successful Dinner for 6!  This is a variant "progressive dinner" theme.  Instead of progressing to each house for the next course, the host house will provide the main course and the guests will bring the trimmings, and dessert will be at the clubhouse with everyone attending.  The theme for Dinner for 6 this time around was "Comfort Cabin Fever Food!"  The guests know where they are going but the host will be surprised!  So shhhh don't spill the beans!

Delaware Agricultural Museum

This month at the Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village there are a few great exhibits you want to be sure to check out.
There will be a contest between selected local artists who will paint creative designs on barrels, you will then be able to vote for your favorite barrel in person at the Museum or online. The intent for this events is to promote awareness on the benefits of using rain barrels to reduce rainwater runoff and improve water quality.
There will also be a printing press exhibit where you will be able to see some old printing presses and learn how documents were created with them, the process as well as the different tools used.
Another exiting exhibit is Planting the Seeds of play, where you will be able to see some of the games that played by kids growing up on farms around the turn of the 20th Century.

The events are from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm every Tuesday - Saturday this month.

Recent Reads

Recent Reads met in the Clubhouse on Wednesday at 7 pm and it was such a pleasure!  Eight of us chatted about books we have read or are currently reading, about authors we like or dislike, shared information about the Kent Co Library system and much more.  Probably one of the best ideas of the evening came from Janet K.....Keep a journal of the books you have read!  How many of us have picked up a book to read only to discover 50 pages later that we've already read it?!

I learned that we have more than a few writers at Southern Meadow and you might end up hearing about a book written by a group of our own!

For those who may be wondering, Recent Reads was just formed as a book club without "required" reading material.  On the first Wednesday of each month, join us in the Clubhouse to find out what your neighbors are reading or learn about an author you may not know.  You can join in the discussion or just listen in.....The more the merrier!

We hope to see you at 7 pm on February 5!
